Jowee’s Special Interests
Areas of Practice
Hi, I am Jowee, Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Holistic Health and Wellness Coach.
Having received my Wellness Coach Certification from The International Association of Wellness Professionals (IAWP) and my degree in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy from Personal Excellence and Leadership Academy.
I am strongly committed to helping people enhance the overall quality of their lives through holistic healing.
Regardless of whether you want to create a breakthrough from the mundanities of life, eliminate negative beliefs, self-doubt, insecurities, and fear, or if you simply want to disassociate yourself from past energies, you have come to the right place. My services are grounded in helping you lead a happier and healthier life, filled with newfound purpose and vitality.
Hypnotherapy is a powerful mechanism for self-improvement. Fast becoming increasingly popular the world over, it empowers people to transform their subconscious beliefs.
What can Hypnotherapy do for you ?
Since Hypnotherapy is an altered state of focused consciousness, you will be in control all the time. Contrary to misconceptions, hypnotherapy is actually a natural state of mind, so it is completely safe.
When a person is in a hypnotic state, in addition to being more open to discussion, they are also more accepting of suggestions, which is why hypnotherapy is such an effective tool for curing an extensive range of conditions, addictions, and phobias quickly and naturally.
I can help you to :
Quit Smoking
Get Over Anxiety
Stop Emotional Eating
Defeat Depression
Achieve Weight Loss Naturally with no fad diets
Vanquish Insomnia
Conquer Phobias
Manage Stress
Remember – your conscious mind is only the tip of the iceberg within your brain and being.
On-line ( Phone or Telehealth ) Hypnotherapy Sessions
Usually, sessions are conducted in clinic, but because I fully understand the demands of the current Corona Virus restrictions as well as our modern life and time constraints, I conduct sessions online as well.
If you do choose the latter, ensure that you have comfortable seating that supports your entire back.
The more relaxed you are, the more effective and successful the session will be.
On line sessions could be particularly useful for reliving stress and domestic tensions during the current Corona Virus restrictions and confinements.
Jowee’s interests outside of work
Outside of work I love travelling, going to the beach and reading.
I am into running and yoga. Running is my main sport.
When I am not working, I spend my day reading, cooking or baking.
And of course, being with my husband, friends and family.

Are you at the mercy of your hay fever? 🤧
If itchy eyes, a runny nose and sneezing have taken over your life, changing your daily habits can help you manage your symptoms and reduce your exposure to the environmental allergens that trigger them.
New habits can be hard to develop, so start with one that will be easy for you to implement, and work your way up from there.
The following daily habits will help you put your symptoms back in their place:
🏡 Keep your windows closed at times when the pollen count is highest (usually in the early morning and evening) to prevent pollen entering your home and triggering your symptoms. Check tomorrow’s pollen forecast so you can be prepared to manage a high pollen day.
❌🍷 Reduce your intake of histamine-triggering foods and drinks, such as coffee and alcohol (especially beer, cider, and wine, which contain high histamine levels). Histamine is the chemical your immune system produces when exposed to allergens, responsible for the swelling and itching in your nasal passages and eyes. However, it is also found in some foods and drinks, and avoiding these may help reduce your symptoms.
🌾Vacuum your house frequently to remove pollens and other allergens from your home.
🚿 Minimise pollen being spread throughout your house, by showering, washing your hair and changing your clothes as soon as you get home.
🖐️ Wash your bed sheets frequently and at a high temperature to remove pollen that may have made its way into bed on your clothes, hair, or through your window. Dry your sheets indoors to prevent pollen sticking to them as they dry.
😎 Wear wrap-around sunglasses and a hat with a brim to keep pollen out of your eyes to limit itchy, streaming, swollen eyes.
🤓 See your natural healthcare Practitioner for nutritional and herbal supplementation that has been formulated to help provide allergy symptom support and a probiotic that helps reduce the occurrence of allergy symptoms such as hay fever by improving the balance of bacteria in your gut.

Warming Turmeric Latte Recipe
Many of us may find ourselves craving the comforting warmth of tea or coffee so here is a delicious alternative filled with the anti-inflammatory goodness of turmeric alongside the warmth of ginger and cinnamon. Don’t leave out the black pepper – this will ensure maximum benefits from the turmeric!
You will need:
• 1 tbsp Ginger (grated)
• 1 cup Canned Coconut Milk
• 1 cup Water
• 1 tsp Turmeric (powder)
• 1 tbsp Raw Honey
• 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
• 1 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil
• 1/4tsp ground black pepper
1. Grate the ginger then squeeze the juice out of it into a saucepan. Discard the pulp. Add the remaining ingredients to the saucepan and place over medium heat. Heat through for about 3 to 5 minutes, not letting it come to a boil. Whisk continuously.
2. Carefully transfer into a blender (or you can use a handheld blender or whisk) Blend vigorously for about 30 seconds, or until a foam starts to form. Pour into glasses through a sieve and enjoy! ☺️💛 ...

We constantly get asked the question “Do you do desensitisation?”
First of all, what is “Desensitisation” ? There are many meanings but simply put it means “to become less sensitive”.
The good news is, YES we can help you.
First of all, let us be clear that here we are not talking about delayed reactions to foods – we could call these “Sensitivities” these require a different approach to the Desensitisation being discussed in this post. In this post we are addressing allergens that activate the immediate side of the immune system resulting in symptoms such as hives, eczema, itching eyes. dripping nose and sneezing.
For Desensitisation, our Pathology partners help us to measure the scale of sensitivity by providing a test technically called “sIgE testing on the ImmunoCAP platform”. This is widely considered the benchmark method used in the majority of current allergy clinical trials. (Williams PB et al, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 2000 Jun; 105:1221-30).
At Perth Allergy Clinic we can use this test for a whole range of individual allergens by putting specific panels together. Our practitioners will go through the options with you during your initial consultation.
Results will identify each individual allergen whether positive or negative together with a description of the reactivity eg "low, moderate, high, very high".
We have experienced Practitioners including Clinical Nutritionists, Naturopaths and Nurses available to assist you. Allergies are what we deal with all day every day.
For the relief of symptoms, we use scientifically proven and clinically trialled natural medicines.
With our approach to Desensitisation we don’t band aid. We aim to get to the root cause of the problem by healing the gut and the gut wall, reducing hyper-permeability (leakage) and reducing the immune systems production of histamine.
We also provide ongoing specific dietary information from our Clinical Nutritionists. Their consulting work may be claimed through your private health fund.

Anxiety is normal.
At some point in our lives most of us will experience a feeling of worry, concern or even panic and fear. These emotions can be mild and easy to manage, and in some cases quite debilitating.
We’ve talked about the gut-brain axis before and certainly in clinic we see that many patients experience an increase in their digestive symptoms as worry, fear and anxiety escalate.
Some preclinical and clinical studies have demonstrated the positive impact of probiotic supplementation on anxiety and depressive symptoms. Although this research is in it’s infancy, it gives us good reason to consider the health of our gut and the organisms within it as we look to improve our mood.
Some of the actions of probiotics on mood may be:
- Increased levels of serotonin; the happy hormone
- Reduced levels of systemic inflammation
- Certain strains such as L. Rhamnosus helping to reduce cortisol; the flight or fight hormone
- Some strains such as B.Infantis may possess natural antidepressant properties too.
Talk to your practitioner today about the relationship between your mood and digestion.

Did you know that the genes found in your gut microbiome outnumber your human genes 150 to 1? 😲
Sounds outrageous doesn't it? It's true, you are host to more bacterial DNA than you are to your own DNA.
Harvard research demonstrates this clearly. Researchers in 2019 analysed the DNA of 3,655 human microbiome samples and found nearly 46 million bacterial genes. Many of these genes were specific to the individual, creating a microbiome fingerprint of kinds. This represents a staggering number and diversity of organisms in the human microbiome and allows us to get insight into your specific gut health.
At Perth Allergy Clinic we are able to provide a safe, simple and quick home test which will reveal the inner workings of your microbiome. Helping your practitioner to pinpoint the underlying gut bugs contributing to your digestive upset.
If you've been trying without luck to understand your gut health, this could be the test you've been waiting for.

Annie came to see us last September at the start of the allergy season suffering with hay fever ...

Annie came to see us last September at the start of the allergy season suffering with hay fever symptoms of sneezing, nose dripping like a tap and intense itchy, red, swollen eye’s. The eyes were further irritated by the office air conditioning and she told us they were uncomfortable and dry throughout the day. When she blinked she felt like she constantly had something in her eye.
Because her nose was dripping all the time Annie went through copious boxes of tissues and the sides of her nose were raw red. She would cover up the redness with make up.
It had been the same for many years and she decided it was time to sort this out as she said it was no fun having this discomfort to a point her nose was so blocked she could not breath at night properly and ended up with lot’s of sleepless nights.
Annie’s energy levels were low and having to cope with her ‘wet, sneezy and itchy’ symptoms it was starting to affect her mood.
We allergy tested Annie for grasses, pollens, trees and weeds, animal dander, dust mite in fact all airborne allergens together with a comprehensive food sensitivity test of 220 foods. This test gave Annie clarity about the foods she was eating and how reactive she was to some of them on the report. The highest were the ones she was eating on a regular basis and was unaware they were contributing to her symptoms.
With the knowledge of the testing, gut health support and a carefully put together rotational food plan with our Nutritionist, Annie started to feel the benefit almost immediately.
These photo’s are showing Annie’s eyes before any dietary changes and gut health support and the after photo’s were six weeks later.
Annie continued to improve and eventually reintroduced the foods which were problematic back into her diet without experiencing the allergy symptoms.
Other improvements were a better quality sleep, more energy throughout the day and less irritable.
Thank you for making the decision to come to see us Annie we are thrilled with your progress.

Did you know that your gut microbiome holds insights into your health and your wellbeing?
🦠 From start to finish, there are literally millions of organisms right now living inside your gut. Bacteria, yeasts, fungi, viruses and possibly parasites too.
🦠 If you could isolate and weigh them all, they could weigh up to 2kg...which is a bit more than the average human brain!
🦠 Each section of the gut looks and feels differently based on its acidity, enzymatic environment and even temperature. So each area provides an ideal home for certain bugs, and should exclude others. (hint... This is sometimes where things can go wrong).
🦠 Some organisms are beneficial, helping to create enzymes and ease digestion and others can leave us feeling absolutely lousy when they decide to set up home.
🦠 Some are perfectly normal in a certain quantity, but lead to symptoms like diarrhea, bloating, gas, constipation or abdominal pain when they get out of control.
🦠 The microbiome has more diversity than a rainforest. A healthy gut contains a good number and a wide variety of beneficial microorganisms, each with their own health contributing features.
🦠 Just like a rainforest, we need to cultivate and maintain a healthy terrain for these fabulous organisms to thrive in the right way.
